As part of this campaign, Surge invites you to be part of a unique, interactive event that will educate us about water, the precious resource that unites everyone. Take part in a virtual global journey and experience what life is like in water-challenged Cambodia, Haiti, Ethiopia and other areas of the world. Discover innovative ways people are treating their water to make it clean and safe. Learn the everyday things you can do to join the Surge and make a difference to help bring clean water to all.********** Example Activities: My Water Footprint: Gain an understanding of the water you use in a typical day – your water footprint. Learn about not only the direct impact of daily water use – e.g. drinking water (2-4 liters), but also the water necessary to produce the food we consume (1kg of beef requires 15,000 liters of water).*********** SKYLIGHTS – Inspire and be Inspired: A simple, well-conceived idea can make a life changing difference. Create your own beeswax candle, learn from Skylar’s dream and her Skylights that motivated people of any age can make a positive global impact.*************** Water Wars: You will be confined to “your” island, receive your daily allotment of water, and learn about the current inequalities in water usage & availability globally; then participate in a thought-provoking discussion focused on finding creative solutions and innovative ways to share this precious resource.
