Heart & Sole Dance Foundation (HSDF) is currently seeking board members. HSDF board members must have a dedication to the cause of Arts Education, Social Development of children in our community and engaging others in good works in Southern Cook and Northeastern Will Counties. Each HSDF board member is asked to contribute 13-16 hours per month to board work, attend monthly board meeting, and chair or co-chair one of the board's committees. Committee meetings are generally held once a month as well, so board members generally attend two meetings 1 board meeting, 1 committee meeting per month. We ask that all potential board members have experience as a volunteer with any charitable cause in the past this is important to us because as an arts education foundation, we hope that our leadership can understand volunteer perspectives. BOARD MEMBER Will co-chair the committee to publish, fund raise for, grow and develop our newsletter. This Board member will be asked to oversee the process of collecting newsletter articles from volunteer writers, sell ads to fund the paper and earn fundraising profits for HSDF, establish relationships with potential advertisers and sponsors for the paper, and get newsletter formatted, printed, and distributed on a timeline. Co-chair will also be asked to help develop newsletter and help plan its growth over 2011-2013 so that it can become a sustainable source of funding for HSDF. Chair will coordinate volunteers to complete newsletter tasks and help with each task as/if needed. Prior experience as a volunteer with any nonprofit and prior experience on a nonprofit board preferred but not required.
