The Brain Research Foundation is seeking a dedicated student or recent graduate skilled in video editing for a hands-on internship in downtown Chicago. A minimum of 10 hours/week is preferred and we can accommodate a flexible schedule. Hours can be flexible as well. Candidate must have formal training using any form of a video editing program with their own access to laptop/computer and software. The intern can work from home if preferred, and make his/her own schedule (10 hr commitment per week for 2-3 months, or until job is completed). This is an unpaid internship. Responsibilities include: • Editing videos from raw footage • Encoding videos for the web, and uploading to BRF website and various social media platforms • Updating BRF website content (knowledge in SiteIgnition is a strong plus) • Internship may also include shooting videos for interviews and various promotions • Additional responsibilities as assigned Required Qualifications: • Working toward or obtained Bachelor’s degree in film, video, or communications media with a minimum of 2 years of experience in video production • In-depth knowledge of video compression formats • Ability to assemble raw material into a finished media product • Ability to encode videos for the web • Willing to do research and troubleshoot problems independently • Proficiency in video equipment methods, personal computer usage, and the various techniques employed in the video production and editing fields • Detailed-oriented and able to work independently • Interest or knowledge in the field of neuroscience not required, but is a plus • Professional demeanor and ability to get along with others in a small office atmosphere • Creative/innovative thinking is welcome!
