Her Story Theater's mission is to use theater and the written word to shine bright lights in dark places where women and children are in need of social justice and community support. Through the year we have 3 performances, 3 writers' exchanges, 3 classes and 3 educational workshops. The Performances: GLOSS OVER original performance based on stories of Chicago's homeless women from Deborah's Place. SHADOW TOWN original performance based on true stories of sex trafficking of Chicago's women and children. CIDE SHOW original performance honoring the lives of Chicago's women lost to violence. All shows unique, poignant and a call to action for our community. The Writers' Exchange: New or published work by Chicago writers, presented 3 times a year with audience participation. The Classes: 3 classes on writing, presentation, performance. The Educational Workshops: 3 workshops for teachers and students.
