Acts Of Kindness Cabaret is a volunteer, not-for-profit association of cabaret professionals passionate about taking what we do well and doing good things with it. We believe in the inspiring power of simple kindness, as well as the artistic value of cabaret. It is our mission to provide benefit cabaret performances, largely free of charge, as fundraising vehicles for other charitable organizations, spreading kindness through music to raise significant charitable dollars while increasing awareness, understanding and enjoyment of cabaret. As of October 1, 2010, Acts Of Kindness Cabaret performances have raised over $155,000 for Chicago-area non-profit organizations. We are a bit like an 'event in a box.' We provide you with a 1 or 2 hour professional show (3 pro singers and a pianist), lights, sound, technical people, set-up and tear-down crew, printed programs, and publicity assistance. We work with your organization to find a venue and promote your event. Your organization sells the tickets and keeps the money. All we ask for in return is a captive audience at the event, a commitment from your organization to make the event a success, and reimbursement of our modest expenses (usually around $300). There's no catch. We fulfill the artistic part of our mission by fulfilling the philanthropic one, and vise versa. It is simple kindness from us to you and those you serve.
