In Her Shoes Chicago, is a 501(c) 3 non profit networking group for women of all ages and backgrounds, to share ideas, support and inspire the development and maintenance of a healthy and positive lifestyle. "Give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world." — Marilyn Monroe ♥ Empowering women- One step at a time In Her Shoes Chicago began as the Positive Girls Club and was started in 2008 for women of all ages who were determined to make positive changes in their lives. Small gatherings were held where women came together to share positive thoughts, provide inspiration to each other and share business and networking opportunities. The group began to slowly grow and gain momentum as a forum for women to build strong individual and community relationships and became a strong networking resource in the Chicagloland area. In 2010 the name was changed to In Her Shoes Chicago and plans were put into place to formalize the group through incorporation as a not-for-profit organization. A kick-off event was held to introduce the new structure and provide the opportunity for women to learn about future plans and direction of the group. Additionally, an initial Board of Directors was put together and a 2011 programming plan was developed. This plan includes regular monthly meetings, social and community events, workshops and a yearly conference. In Her Shoes Chicago continues to provide opportunities for women to share ideas, network and promote business growth, raise awareness of community issues and the means to actively become involved, and develop strong business and personal relationships.
