Since 1965, Midtown Educational Foundation’s (MEF) Midtown Center for boys and Metro Achievement Center for girls have provided thousands of Chicago urban youth ages eight through eighteen with rigorous academics, structured character education and enriching extracurricular opportunities. MEF is a nonprofit organization with an award-winning approach aimed to develop the whole person. Metro Achievement Center for girls and Midtown Achievement Center for boys blend academic tutoring and test prep, character building, sports and arts, parental support, and constant personal attention for 4-12th grade students. Over 400 volunteers donate time each week as tutors and mentors. Midtown and Metro prepares its students for the future, with high school and college readiness, scholarship opportunities, and career exposure from dynamic professionals across Chicago.
