Open Heart Magic is a Chicago-based non-profit organization that helps sick kids in hospitals through the use of Bedside Magic. Our Mission is to use the therapeutic power of magic and laughter to energize and strengthen seriously ill children and aid their healing. We strive to reach young patients one-by-one regardless of their disease, medical situation or physical ability so that all children may benefit from this engaging and entertaining therapy. Open Heart Magic magicians are all business professionals who volunteer their time to work one on one with the children at their hospital bedsides. Our volunteers are professionally trained by Open Heart Magic and taught how to perform magic and use it to therapeutically help kids. Open Heart Magic currently has programs at Children's Memorial, Rush, Evanston, Central DuPage, Advocate Christ Hope and Lutheran General Children's Hospitals. Last year, Open Heart Magic reached more the 2,500 kids at their hospital bedsides.
